articulate your why
*MASTER CLASS*

As we approach the New Year, join this program that dives deep to articulate your Why — for yourself, your brand, and your audience. Leave this program with new messaging to integrate across your storytelling, whether you are strengthening your brand story, crafting your personal narrative, or pitching different audiences.

I recently shared this method with the NYU Startup School to support entrepreneur pitches, NYU Tandon School of Engineering for product-market fit, and WE NYC for brands connecting to different audiences.

Articulating your Why is the foundation for solid storytelling, translating your vision into a story that resonates. A stronger story will empower your brand to better connect with your audience. Finding your personal Why will make you feel more connected to your work, elevating your inspiration for the New Year.

Week 1 - YOUR PERSONAL why

“There’s something that makes him/her tick,” is what we think when we interact with a passionate person. Inspired people attract others to be part of their vision and story. Through guided exercises, learn to articulate your personal Why and stay connected to it, elevating your inspiration for the New Year.

WEEK 2 - YOUR BRAND’S WHY

Knowing and articulating your brand’s purpose is critical. Leadership and team members that keep their eyes on the Whys stay inspired and motivated, attracting core communities. Through interactive exercises, learn to be one of the people who can articulate your brand’s Why, a fundamental building block for your brand story.

WEEK 3 - YOUR AUDIENCE’S WHY

This is the most important Why! How are your audience’s Whys aligned with yours and your mission’s? How can you best connect your story to your audience? We will map our communities and their respective Whys. We will test these Whys between classes, getting outside feedback.

WEEK 4 - test + PIVOT YOUR WHYS

Now that you have identified your Whys and audiences, you have developed a test for your narrative. Bring your updated Whys for a final presentation. When you finish articulating and testing your Whys, you have the foundational work for solid storytelling, and a method to pivot in the future.

TESTIMONIALS

"I found an immediate value return in Marissa's Why discovery work. Marissa's questions made easy for me to contemplate and articulate my values, digging deep to capture my inner Whys. Seeing the parallels between my own Why, my company's Why, and my customer’s Why, was fascinating and enlightening — I always felt the connection, though this reinforced the relationship. Marissa worked with me to tie these pieces together into a cohesive story that resonates. I even used the results of our session in conversations with two clients very next day!"

"One of the greatest ways that Marissa adds value is by getting the client to establish their story by figuring out their Why, How and What. With this foundational work, I was able to publish my first book and gain media attention before and after the launch. I had many aha moments that led to the ultimate establishment of my coaching and speaking business. In addition, through Marissa’s programs, I gained clarity around why I wanted to pursue a speaking career, my specific areas to focus and continue to get different perspectives on how to execute each idea in building my platform."
